On The Road Again”
The first day out, we took the privacy cover off the windshield, crack in the windshield, Rob drove the bus down the rutted dirt road and the crack raced to the finish line, then Rob got propane in the bus, turned it on and we had a fire, Rob’s quick thinking and the fire extinguisher did quick work of making sure I am going to clean for a whole day! Very little damage, but poor Rob had to tear apart the heater where the fire started and nothing. Next he checked the stove. Sure enough there was the leak. We were lucky, if the fire had started under the sink and behind the stove the bus would have burnt or exploded. So, a bit of mess is worth cleaning! Fueling at the truck stop 30 minutes later, was a small pain. The credit card company blocked our card for the 300.00 purchase. A phone call took care of that. Bought a battery for the bus $200.00 and the bus is good now.
The drive to my sister’s in 29 Palms California,was hot, hot, hot! Freaking hot to be exact! No air conditioning. Guzzling water and wetting a wash cloth, we barely dragged our butts into the coolness of my sister’s home, an oasis in the desert. My son drove 90 minutes to say good bye, he arrived about 10 pm and we visited until 4 am.
A couple days later, it was overcast, figuring it was cool enough to head to Flagstaff. Wrong choice! We got hit with another horribly hot miserable day. Sedona Synergy, our bus, began to overheat AND made funny vibrating noises! Miraculously we arrived at a perfect sport for a 35 foot bus conversion with a tow car and parked in the 110 desert heat.
Rob as he always does during these emergency situations, asked me to trance channel one of our illuminated light beings and brought Dream Myst, my illuminated being through. Dream told Rob we would be able to get the help we needed and said it was ok to continue on to the next truck stop and to drive on to Flagstaff in the morning. Taking her at her word, we drove and have now parked at a truck stop for the night. It is 90 degrees in the bus, now, that we are parked we can turn on the AC.
Rob is pretty sure it is the governor that is not working correctly. The humming starts when Sedona Synergy is at 20 rpms and overheated.
Wish I was in Flagstaff, 67 degrees tonight, as my friend Sandy gleefully reported. The troubles we had made me wonder if we were ever going to get out of Southern California!
