Halloween Fun!

Halloween Psychic Buzz Radio Show

Did you know that Halloween is said to have started 3000 years ago with the Celtic tribes of Northern Europe – British Isles and Northern France, especially Ireland.

It was at the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in). The tribes you mentioned celebrated their new year on November first. This day marked the end of summer, the harvest, and the beginning of the dark, cold winter — a time of year that was often associated with human death.

The reason it was associated with human death was because once the harvest was finished the people were completely at the mercy of the bounty of the summer. There was no other way to get food in these coastal locations until they could plant again in the spring. Many people would die through the long, dark, cold winter months.

it was with great trepidation that the Celts went into their winters with fears of dying. Harvest Day was the dark night between the last day of light, or summer, and the first day of dark, or winter.

it was between summer and winter, between mystery and chaos, between life and death. And it became known as ….

HALLOWEEN!!!!

As the story goes on there was a man named Pumpkin Jack. He raised pumpkins, squash. Pumpkin Jack was so mean that he was banned from both Heaven and Hell.

Wow! Ya gotta be mean to be banished by Bealzubub, locked out by Lucifer, dissed by the devil…

Anyway, the only thing he was given was a lantern in a pumpkin to light his way for all eternity. And it was on this one night, when he was first banned, that the veil became thinner between the living and the dead.

It was on this night, Called Sowan, now Halloween, that those who had died in the past year walked with this mean man known as Jack O Lantern. It was on this night that the living folks would try to placate the dead by leaving food and sweets outside to keep them from coming inside and haunting them.

The Celts donned costumes, which were made from animal heads and skins. They politely offered life essences back to the earth for her bounty in the harvest as well.

And now, with old Pumpkin Jack and his Pumpkin Lantern still roaming about on this night, some say that his light helps brighten the way and that Halloween is the best night for predicting the future to this day.

With that thin veil and the spirits coming alive to celebrate with Jack-O-Lantern, with all that spirit activity and energy, more insights and answers can be seen and shared. This night is the time between time, space between space and world between world.
